Thompson Pipe Group – Pressure expands its quality department with a new senior-level position. William “Will” Akard joined the pressure division as the Director of Quality Assurance and Quality Control. A proven construction and heavy manufacturing leader, he brings nearly 20 years of quality experience. In previous roles he oversaw QA/QC, project management, process improvement, and quality management leadership.
As a driver of quality management systems, he will lead quality efforts at each facility within the Thompson Pipe Group – Pressure division. He will oversee and expand resources committed to process improvement initiatives.
Prior to joining Thompson Pipe Group, he served as the Director of Quality at Sabre Industries.
In 2001 he earned a degree in welding technology from Texas State Technical College. Additionally, he holds certifications for welding and coatings inspection from the American Welding Society and NACE International.
