Steel C200

Big, bold, and built to last

Available in diameters from 30” to 124”, our welded steel pressure pipe is manufactured per AWWA C200 and mortar-lined to AWWA C205 standards for maximum durability. Choose between a polyurethane coating (AWWA C222) or a three-layer tape system (AWWA C214) for added protection. With lengths up to 53 feet, installation is faster, and joints are fewer.

Engineered for internal pressure using the hoop stress formula and for external loads using the Iowa equation, our steel pipe is designed to perform. Minimum wall thickness ensures safe handling, while design per AWWA Manual M11 provides a safety factor on par with other waterworks materials — even under surge or water hammer conditions.

Thompson Pipe Group offers two primary types of steel pipe joints: the rubber gasket joint and the lap-welded joint. The rubber gasket joint is Thompson Pipe Group’s standard joint for small diameter steel pipe. For larger diameter pipe, Thompson Pipe Group uses the lap-welded joint.
