Pressure division expands engineering team with addition of Jennifer Christman, P.E.
Weeks before the scheduled production of a 100-mile steel pipeline, Thompson Pipe Group-Pressure adds Jennifer Christman, P.E., as the new technical resource marketing manager. With continued growth expected for 2020, the position was developed to support clients with pipe selection and specification.
Later this month the company will begin manufacture of the Oklahoma City Water Utilities Trust Atoka Pipeline, one of the largest water pipelines in North America. In 2019 Thompson Pipe Group completed production of the Vista Ridge Pipeline for the San Antonio Water System, the largest water public private partnership in North America. Leadership expects to the industry and its production line to stay busy. Adding engineering support was part of the strategic plan.
Pressure division president Detlev Schlorke says Christman’s experience and reputation make her an asset to the organization. “She brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise,” he says. “Jennifer is well-respected in the industry and we know clients will benefit from her leadership.”
The company’s position on thought leadership and culture drove her to accept the new position. “They use webinars, in-person events, and social media to be an industry resource,” she says. “I was attracted to their bold approach to company culture and advertising.”
Christman holds her professional engineer license in seven of the Southeastern states. Prior to joining Thompson Pipe Group she held leadership positions with pipe manufacturing companies and engineering consulting firms.
A graduate of the University of Florida, Christman earned a bachelor’s in Civil Engineering from the University of Florida. She resides near Atlanta with her family.
